WE'LL NEVER BE FRIENDS

You like the city
I'm a country man
You're not so pretty
Not like I am
You like surprises
But me, I'd like to know
You'd never win prizes
On a TV show

We've been like this for far too long
That I can't even remember what went wrong
And you'd think that sometimes we could make amends
But I swear to God, that we'll never be friends
No, We'll never be friends

You're all for progress
I'll stay the same
I dress to impress
And put you to shame
You like the Beatles
But I'm an Elvis man
I'm Spandau Ballet
To your Duran Duran

But it seems to me, it's never enough
I always knew it was gonna be tough
But no-one ever said that it would be this hard
And I try my best to talk it through
But you don't like me and I don't like you
Oh life is so hard
Oh woah woah

I'm Peter Parker
But you're Bruce Wayne
I wish I'd never started
But then who's to blame
This case is hopeless
It's open and shut
I'm a supermodel
And you're Jabba the Hutt

ABOUT THE SONG...

What can I say about this song? At first glance it sounds like 'She's Electric' but then you get over that and realise it's not, you've found yourself in the most open song i have. It's about me and Clippy. Everything about me and Clippy is wrong. He like's The Beatles, but I'm and Elvis man. Chalk and cheese. Socks and shoes. And that's what this song is about. As I'm sure you know (having read this journal in it's entirety) me and Phil fell out for a couple of years. He hated me, I didn't like him very much as a result. So that's what this song is about. Two people who fall out. No good reason why. But it's made a good subject for a song. I think Paddy has heard this song a few times and definitely likes it, so it became I go-ahead for live performance. Which will be soon, i promise. - Fil
